Welcome to the McGill Intergroup Cognition Lab. We study how people form and express intergroup bias in attitudes and behavior. The lab is led by Jordan Axt, Assistant Professor of Psychology at McGill University.
At The MICL, We are:
Identifying and reducing the influence of social information—like age, gender, or race—in judgment.
Understanding how implicit and explicit intergroup attitudes are shaped by cultural context, change over time, and predict other beliefs and behaviors.
Creating advances in measurement and analysis of these processes, particularly through developing novel methodologies and leveraging large datasets.
